Starting a New Chapter

Today we leave...on the road heading back to Denver...totally in awe of the fact that 16 Days is finished. On Sunday, we had the student's graduation. A graduation that ended one chapter...but started a new one. This chapter is starting with new life...a life of LOVE and PURPOSE.

We entered 16 Days with a group of teens looking for something...they were searching for deeper things. God met them in that moment of searching and took them to places they could have never gone on their own. God led them through brokenness...and in that brokenness...brought life. LOVE was seen at the center of their lives...falling in LOVE with their Creator and King...and now their response to this world is LOVE. That is OUR response. With hearts on fire, they enter this world with their Father beside them saying..."I will not leave...I got you...just keep saying YES to me..."

So we drive. Driving into new adventures and new journeys. Always in our hearts we say "for King and Kingdom we LOVE". This has been 16 days of encountering God and His Kingdom in places that we may have never expected. We enter into the next chapter in God's story of LOVE...If our God is for us then who can stand against.

The Journey Into LOVE

Graduation is tomorrow. It's crazy to think we are already at that point. It feels like we just started this adventure together yesterday. God has done powerful and great things. Lives are on fire...seeking and hungry for what God has down this road. There are many unknowns but God rules over any darkness and uncertainty.

Tonight we spent some time with the team working through "Intimacy with God" plans. This basically gives them a place to map out what they are sensing God is showing them about their time spent building their relationship with Him. As leaders, we had a chance to look over and read them...it was a beautiful moment. These teens are hungry for more of God! They aren't settling for the old...the past does not satisfy anymore. They long for something deeper...something that brings life and purpose. They long for intimacy with their Creator.

So as we enter the end of this chapter tomorrow, pray that hearts will be consumed with God's purpose and love. That this would bring the start to a new chapter in their lives...a chapter that leads the world to LOVE their Creator with everything...a chapter that, through these teens, the world learns to enter into a journey of LOVE...

Living out LOVE

The rain is pounding down on Gus as we drive through Missouri. We have paper towel where the water is leaking through...there's nothing better than a good and wet adventure.

Last night when we were at our hotel for the night, the team had a chance to live out the LOVE of Christ in an incredible way! The team met a man named Sean...and he started pouring out his life to them. God was all over their conversation. By the end of the night Sean started a relationship with Christ...God is so good!

What was incredible to see was how, as a team, they didn't create the moment. God created the moment...and the team said "YES". Because obedience ruled over personal agenda...God moved. What would happen if we just started saying "yes" instead of coming up with excuses every time God said to move? May we continue to say "YES"...May we have faith and trust that God is larger than our questions and doubts. God has us in His hands...may we live our lives, in every moment, knowing and believing this...we live to serve the KING...because we LOVE.

Discovering True Life

God makes beautiful things out of the dust. The last week or so has been full of God tearing away and building up. God continues to strip away the layers of ourselves until the deepest parts are brought to the light. When these deep places are brought to the light...this is when God dives in and washes us clean.

The 16 Days team is continuing to let God take them to these extremely deep places. He is revealing new and incredible things. Surrender is taking over their hearts. I don't think there is anything more beautiful to watch than a heart breaking and becoming totally surrendered to LOVING God with everything.

We started sharing our "hot seats"...basically our life stories. Their stories are full of God's healing physically, emotionally and spiritually. Every story has its breaking moments...where there is no other place to turn but to the Father. Through brokenness true life begins. True life begins when we realize that we have nothing. That our hearts on their own have nothing. But when God completely takes over a broken heart...THAT is where passion lives and passion grows.

God is bringing TRUE LIFE to this team...so we push forward on this journey...living in expectancy that God will do great things. We LOVE because He first LOVED...by this people will know who we are surrendered to. Greater things have yet to come...God you are good...

A Community of LOVE

Something special happens when hearts come together who start searching for the same thing. True community is happening here on 16 Days. God is moving in and through the group. It is incredible to see and be apart of!

It's been a few days since we have posted anything...but there has been many adventures. The road has become their empty pages. The teens have grabbed their pens and have started to write...making their make along the way and letting God take control of their hand...and in that God stories are being written. We've been in Chicago and now we're driving through Iowa...it's hot and flies have taken over the bus...but there is no other place we'd rather be...God is here and his heart is coming alive right in front of us. This is TRUE life...this is kingdom...this is God's heart...

Last night we split into boy/girl groups and we dove head-first into life together. Sharing the hardest parts of life and the struggles that come. Intimate stories were shared and God's freedom was flowing through the campsite. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is...there is freedom"...God is so good. God's love and grace was flowing...

So we keep driving...we leave a campsite and we see what's next. We don't know what's going to happen today or what adventures are waiting out there...but we drive. Because God has started these teens on a journey that leads to new realities and new hearts. We enter this next chapter knowing that God goes before us...preparing the adventure for us to discover...it has been 6 days if this 16 day road trip...may today be a chapter deeper into God's heart...pray.

Our response...LOVE

It's day two of our trip from Denver, Colorado to Bethel, Indiana the for start of 16 Days. Looking around Gus the bus right now it's nice to see the dry, sweat-less faces...yesterday was full of sticky skin and damp hair, especially Foster.

The road is part of the journey...even for us leaders. We sit here thinking, praying, dreaming and loving. The trees and corn fields pass by and I can't help but think about leaving your mark. We go along this journey making our way closer to God's heart and as we go, we meet people. We stop and SEE people truly for the child of God they are...and then we LOVE. As disciples, we abandon all things to love...not just from our heart but the heart of God which holds an abundance of love that we cannot even imagine. So as we drive closer I'm thinking to myself, why am I on this journey? Why do I sit here and pray and think and dream about the next 16 days? Because I want to LOVE out of a heart that is bigger than my own. I dream and pray out of expectancy that God is going to take the love that I have and than multiply that beyond what I can imagine. This can only happen if I am falling in love with Him and His heart more and more as I journey.

We drive because of God's love. We journey because we are in love with His heart. As we enter 16 Days...we enter it because we are in love with our God...so in return we cannot help ourselves but love others. THAT is our response...THAT is our passion...THAT is the love of God.

Road Time Recap

We've been on the road for several days now after spending the first days in Denver doing classroom teaching.  Our first stop was Nebraska where we spent a couple difficult days facing fear, living with minimal necessities like food and shelter simulating the imternational mission field.  We then journeyed to Des Moines, IA for an overnight stop at KOA.  Then it was on to Minneapolis for urban awareness.  Now we're headed to Mt. Rushmore where we will discuss our life legacy.
God has been doing such great things in each of our lives!!!!!  He's been so faithful with His goodness, provision, power, mercy, and grace!  We were huddled together just last night in a small laundry room loving each other and our Savior with our words and tears.
Keep praying for more of Him and more of His glory in each of our lives!!

On the Road - SD

We arrived in South Dakota last night and had a powerful time of worship and praise in the laundry room!!! God was there and stirring in hearts as we encouraged and prayed for each other. During the last week and a half we have become a family. Today we hit the road early and set off for the Black Hills to see Mt. Rushmore. The 7 hour drive was taxing  on all of us but we did well nontheless. We are headed to Mt. Rushmore tonight to talk about leaving a legacy for God in the lives of all those around us. There will be a show tonight with fireworks and all the students are excited! You can see God working mightly in their lives and t's a beautiful sight to see! There will not be leaving this trip the same as they came, God's foundation is firm in them and will not be faded! 3 more days - looking forward to the future and smiling on al the memories made :) thank you for letting us borrow your children!

16Days...we come to you Jesus.

We spent yesterday learning from Dwight Robertson about our YOUnique ministry.  We are all designed with HIS purposes in mind.  Dwight also spoke about prayer; one of two wings that help us to soar like eagles.  Finally, we were given tools for having a Date With God.  We then journeyed to Echo Lake for time alone with the Father.  Finally, we ascended to the peak of Mt Evans for some teaching from Rob Cupp about perspective.  God has been doing awesome work in our hearts and we continue to seek more of Him, more of His will, more of His glory.
